Position: Starter - Course Marshal

Job Summary:

The Starter / Marshal plays a critical role in delivering a smooth, organized, and welcoming golf experience for Members and Guests. This position is responsible for managing tee times, monitoring pace of play, and ensuring that golf course policies, rules, and standards—including dress code—are consistently and professionally upheld.

Starters and Marshals are also responsible for accurately charging all guest fees, cart rentals, and power caddy usage through the Club’s point-of-sale system, while communicating clearly with the Golf Shop and Backshop teams. Successful candidates will be professional, approachable, and confident in engaging with members, with a strong focus on service, communication, and maintaining an enjoyable pace of play. Punctuality, reliability, and sound judgment are essential to this role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage tee times for the day including updating the tee sheet where required.
  • Accurately charge Members for greens fees, cart fees and power caddy rentals.
  • Provide professional assistance and information to golfers as required.
  • Provide tees, pencils, scorecards, towels, and divot repair tools to golfers.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
  • High school, College Degree, or equivalent
  • Computer and point-of-sale knowledge
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the game of golf, standard rules and regulations required
  • Must be able to work without your cellphone
  • Must be punctual
